FreshMinistries' Eastside Resource Center hosted its annual Christmas Party on Saturday morning, December 10th from 10a.m. to noon at the Eastside Resource Center's community center located at 616 A. Philip Randolph Boulevard in core-city Jacksonville. For the second year, more than 486 Eastside neighborhood children ranging in ages from infancy to 12 years old recieved a wrapped gift courtesy of The United State Marines' Toys for Tots program. FreshMinistries would like to thank all of our community partners, the Eastside Neighborhood Association, the more than 80 volunteers representing State Farm Insurance, FreshMinistries board members and staff and family members. We also extend a very special thank you to the Eastside neighborhood's Girl Scout Troop whose girls and family members patiently helped each child -- all 486 plus children -- write their names in glitter on Santa Hats provided by FreshMinistries. In addition to the Christmas gift and Santa Hats, the children and parents enjoyed popcorn, touring the Children's Champion's School Choice educational bus, a "bouncy-house" -- and, of course, a visit with the big man himself -- Santa Claus! Thanks to all the volunteers, families and beautiful children that made this annual Christmas party a huge success.
