FreshMinistries signs agreement with Conservation South Africa
October 4, 2021Five Reasons to Donate to Charities and Non-Profits
January 31, 2022My dear friends,
This morning our world—a world desperately in need of moral compass and visionary leadership—lost a giant.
Archbishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu was a hero to me and countless millions around the world. He won the Nobel Peace prize, and our undying respect, with his fearless stand for truth on a global stage– no matter what the personal consequences. He won our hearts with his laughter, his tears and his love.
The “Arch” had a gift in turning faith into action and supporting others who did the same. Upon hearing of FreshMinistries’ efforts to address global food insecurity through a global aquaponics initiative, he agreed to put his name on the (now launched) “Desmond Tutu Program to End Global Hunger.” In a note that was generous in both thought and spirit he wrote:
“Your program is quite exciting and has such a great potential for helping to eradicate poverty. You and your colleagues already have an enviable record of making a difference. I commend you and your colleagues on a superb record. Well done!”
In an effort to honor this great man and his legacy, FreshMinistries will continue to embrace that “great potential” as we work unceasingly to bring social and economic justice to the people we serve. Archbishop Tutu will never be forgotten.
To the entire Tutu family, we send our love. As we grieve with them in their loss we also rejoice with them, and the world, for the 90 wonderful years of a spiritual giant in our midst. God’s perpetual Light does, indeed, shine upon him.
With love and the deepest of peace,
The Rev. Dr. Robert V. Lee III
