The Weaver Center grew out of a dream to improve the community. It serves as a harbor for community youth; a place they can go to pursue a brighter future through mentoring and our FreshFutures and FreshPath programs. Our Lifepoint Career Institute moved from Beaver Street to the Weaver Center in January 2015. In 2017, we launched our 6,000-square-foot aquaponics facility at the Weaver Center. This 10-week tutoring program focuses on theory and clinical instructions to prepare students to register for the Florida CNA Certification Exam* through the Florida Department of Health.

We have recently launched an aquaponics training facility at the Weaver Center for Community Outreach.

The agribusiness functions around state-of-the-art climate resilient greenhouse farming in areas that import nearly all of their food.

Prevention Services - Universal Direct

Nassau and Duval Counties

Partnering with youth athletic teams to provide Prevention Education and Alternative Activities that includes healthy activities and excludes alcohol and other drugs.

For decades, FreshMinistries has worked to improve the Jacksonville, FL community, offering a range of programs from job preparedness training to services for at-risk youth. As one of the leading social service agencies in Jacksonville, FL, we help adults and kids alike live healthier, happier, more fulfilled lives.

We operate several programs out of The Weaver Center for Community Outreach, a place where community youth can go to pursue a brighter future through mentoring and programs like FreshFutures and FreshPath. It’s also home to our Lifepoint Career Institute and our aquaponic garden. The Weaver Center also hosts several special events each year, including our FreshMinistries’ annual community Christmas party and toy giveaway. FreshPath and FreshFutures Programs

Since our founding, FreshMinistries has been dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk youth in our Jacksonville, FL community. Our FreshPath and FreshFutures youth programs have changed the lives of hundreds of area kids, providing a safe, supportive environment that leads to a brighter future. Learn more about these programs below:

  1. FreshPath: This program for adjudicated youth targets court-involved and high-risk young people in our community. We offer services to 60 at-risk students each year, helping them succeed in school, make good decisions and avoid future involvement with the court system. The program includes mentoring, tutoring, field trips, work readiness training, employment support and much more.
  2. FreshFutures: This year-long program for Duval County high school students provides training in financial literacy, college readiness, job readiness, academic enrichment and health and wellness. Activities include mentorship, cultural outings and summer internship experiences for qualified students.

LifePoint Career Institute

Located within The Weaver Center, LifePoint Career Institute is a vocational training and certification program geared toward helping unemployed and underemployed adults. We currently offer a nationally recognized hospitality certification program, helping adults enter this booming field that will only keep growing as Florida keeps growing.

Our hospitality training program is fully accredited by the American Hotel and Lodging Association. We train and provide certifications in First-Line Supervisors of Housekeeping and Janitorial Workers and certification as a Customer Service Representative. It’s a 10-week program that includes hands-on and classroom instruction. Apply today and start your journey toward a fulfilling career in the hospitality industry.

Nursing Assistant Tutoring Program

We offer a 10-week tutoring program, including theory and clinical instruction, that prepares students to register for and pass the Florida CNA Certification Exam through the Florida Department of Health. FreshMinistries is proud to sponsor this program, which inspires young minds and sets them on a path toward helping others in the healthcare industry.

Urban Farming – Aquaponics

Our aquaponics training facility in Jacksonville is a state-of-the-art climate resilient greenhouse farming method. A key component of urban farming, our NativeFresh program is an education-focused commercial aquaponics farm in the heart of Jacksonville, FL that offers a faster way to grow produce. Not only do we provide aquaponics training to members of our local community, but we also donate and sell the delicious, fresh and safe produce we grow at our facility. FreshMinistries is working to launch aquaponics projects throughout the U.S. and around the world.

Computer Lab

The Weaver Institute has a fully equipped computer lab with state-of-the-art equipment. It’s a quiet, friendly space to get homework done, search for a job, write a resume or anything else you need to get done.
