Beaver Street is a full-service business incubator in northwest Jacksonville. The country took notice in 2010 and named it Business Incubator of the Year. Several companies that started here are now multimillion-dollar businesses.
The help is hands-on: entrepreneurial workshops, one-on-one coaching, and technical assistance. Experienced business mentors stay with a founder from startup through mid-growth. LISC, SCORE, the SBA, and the Chamber of Commerce all work alongside the center.
A founder here gets a professional office with a receptionist up front, at below-market rent with no Common Area Maintenance fees. The address carries Enterprise, Empowerment, and Hub Zone status. Then the work starts: marketing strategy, a business plan you put into action, financial literacy, credit coaching, and the financial plan an investor asks to see.
